The Church Mouse Thrift Shop located at 101 North Main Street in Berlin has been in existence for over 50 years in various locations. At one time it was housed in a wing that was attached to the front of the Atlantic Hotel. Another location was on Old Ocean City Blvd. in the area of the present car wash.
The Church Mouse is staffed entirely by volunteers. The majority of our workers are members of our church but we are pleased to have several helpers from other churches. The local merchants in town have been very supportive of us. We are very active in town events and a member of our staff serves on the Board of Directors for the Berlin Chamber of Commerce.
We fund the majority of the Out Reach Mission for St Pauls Church. We donate to a variety of charities locally, nationally and worldwide. A few of our varied projects include Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, Believe in Tomorrow, and various charity WALK A THONS. We also on a continuing basis purchase food items for the Food Pantry run by the Berlin Baptist Church on William Street in Berlin.
We are always looking for donations of small household items, knick knacks, books, costume jewelry and in season gently used clean clothes. Please no furniture, bulky items, electric items or computer hardware. If donating a large amount of items or you have questions please contact coordinator Helen Wiley 410 208 2818. (helenbuttercup@verizon.net) Our shop is very small and it is difficult to receive and price large amounts of donations when we are open
If donating large amounts of items lease contact Helen Wiley (443) 513 6655. Our shop is small and we have a location near the store we prefer you use for larger donations. Please call for directions. We can always use jewelry, house hold and kitchen items, framed pictures, books (novels and cook books, no text or technical books). We can only take seasonal clothing, due to limited storage space. Please no furniture, electronics or other bulky items.
