Observing and maintaining a healthy hive creates an enriching experience for families and students while fostering the utmost appreciation for the world’s most important food crop pollinator. The experience concludes with a honey tasting of the unique flavor profiles from local Delmarva beekeepers. EAS bee clubs and prominent varietal honeys from afar. Everyone will have a different favorite! Guests will gain a greater knowledge and understanding of our pollinator friends, the inner workings of a honey bee colony and how the color, aroma and texture of honey is determined by the type of flower visited, location, climate soil, rainfall, etc.
